Tearful Evening

I am feeling very tearful and sad tonight. I have had to give up my lease and stop taking lessons for awhile . My husband has just started back to work after being off all winter and I need to wait until we get back on our feet to start with my prince again. I thought that I would be ok until I went out to the barn tonight. Albert's owner has been kind enough to let me still come out and groom and lunge him and I give her a big thank you . I am really missing riding him. I am quite fond and attached to him.
I feel that he is somewhat attached to me , (or so I like to think so.)
When I go to get him out in the pasture he always comes right to me as soon as he sees me ! Or could it be he's thinking "I know she cares about me." It's probably just that little treat that he knows he is going to get!
So this blog is just going to be about my little Prince and I hope that I don't bore you to much.
I think that this is my favorite picture that I have taken of Albert.
He is a handsome prince!

Ponygirl said his head reminded her of a seahorse and I never thought about it much until she said that, but it does!

Albert always likes to get hugs and I love to give them to him. I love to just smell him. I am terrible when I come home from being with him, I don't want to wash my hands just so I can smell them all night!

There is something about his eyes. I love to look at them when I am talking to him
. I can see a calmness in them.

He is such a good boy!

I'm trying to reach for that special touch!

He looks so relaxed and peaceful!

Little snow pony!

Come here and see what I have for you!

I have to smell it to see if it might be something that I want!

OH YEAH!

Albert makes anyone look good when you have your picture taken with him!

I have to say that Albert is my first equine that I really love. He is a special horse that has taught me so much. He is a joy to ride! I know my sweet prince that we will ride together again soon!

  1. Oh, Auntie, I am so sorry to hear you had to give up your lease on Albert! I know how much you love him and care for him. That is so nice of his owner to let you still groom him and longe him! I hope you can lease him again soon!
I think he is absolutely beautiful! You know how I love a pretty Arab! You know, my trainer/friend really wants me to get on the Arab show scene with her! If only I could afford that purebred Arab to show!!

  5. I agree with Sares. True words indeed. And how wonderful that you are still invited to spend time with him. I'm so sorry, though, and I hope things look up soon for you. (((HUGS)))

Is Albert a Polish Arabian? He has a very similar head as my neighbor's Arabian mare, Nadia. I just love how the eyes are so forward on the beautiful shaped head. Your Prince is quite handsome.
I love the photos of the two of you togeter. But I have to admit that I remind myself that you're not your twin sister. lol! You two look so much alike.....but one with a Copper Pony and one with a White Prince. :)

ps. You asked about Letterboxing. I took this info off Letterboxing.org.

"Letterboxing is an intriguing mix of treasure hunting, art, navigation, and exploring interesting, scenic, and sometimes remote places. It takes the ancient custom of placing a rock on a cairn upon reaching the summit of a mountain to an artform. It started when a gentleman simply left his calling card in a bottle by a remote pool on the moors of Dartmoor, in England.
Here's the basic idea: Someone hides a waterproof box somewhere (in a beautiful, interesting, or remote location) containing at least a logbook and a carved rubber stamp, and perhaps other goodies. The hider then usually writes directions to the box (called "clues" or "the map"), which can be straightforward, cryptic, or any degree in between. Often the clues involve map coordinates or compass bearings from landmarks, but they don't have to. Selecting a location and writing the clues is one aspect of the art.

Once the clues are written, hunters in possession of the clues attempt to find the box. In addition to the clue and any maps or tools needed to solve it, the hunter should carry at least a pencil, his personal rubber stamp, an inkpad, and his personal logbook. When the hunter successfully deciphers the clue and finds the box, he stamps the logbook in the box with his personal stamp, and stamps his personal logbook with the box's stamp. The box's logbook keeps a record of all its visitors, and the hunters keep a record of all the boxes they have found, in their personal logbooks"

It's a lot of fun. We've been letterboxing for over 2 years now.

  6. I am so sorry you are having to take a break from the horse but maybe your story will turn out like Pony Girl and you might own him and he be all yours someday soon. Life is a funny thing and you never know what lies around the corner. Keep up the spirits and know Albert loves his Cowgirl

  7. Hi Auntie, I am sorry to hear you had to give up your lease. The good thing might be, someone else is still half leasing him, too? Then hopefully he won't go anywhere and you'll have a chance to ride him again soon! I remember the feelings I had at the thought of losing my boy when I thought they might sell him. I had gotten so attached. That is the hard part about leasing. Regardless of your journey with horses, Albert has been such a good horse for you to begin with. I guess you might have to talk that sister of yours into letting you ride the Copperpony! And there is always King this summer, too! ((((((hugs)))))

  8. Oh, I am so sorry to hear this. I hope it turns around soon and you are back on that boy. I'm glad you are still able to see him. He is a doll.

  9. I am also sad to hear you are not leasing Albert for awhile. In his absense...The King will be proud to have you as his "Auntie Nanette" and ride like the wind with him at the Pony Cousin Stampede!!!
