Twins

Most of the people that read our blogs probably know by now that DUSTY DEVOE and I are twins! I am the "OLDEST!" I was born a hour and thirteen minutes before DUSTY DEVOE! That is actually a big time space for twins, it is usually only minutes.

I work with a lady who is from West Africa and we were talking about twins the other day. In her country the first one born would be called "TAIYE" short for "TAIWO." The second one born would be called"KENNY," short for "KEHINDE."

But the funny thing is that in her country, the second one born is the oldest! They say that the second , ( the oldest) pushes the first, (the youngest) out so that they can check and make sure everything is ok for them to come out!
So, " DUSTY DEVOE," in one country I would be younger than you!

My Favorites For Friday

I love crosses! I think that most people do. I found this cross necklace at the goodwill for a very good price and thought to myself, this would look great for the annual "Pony Cousins Trip"
I thought that it was really pretty and the design is on both sides!

I love this picture frame with the cross on it!

I got this candle holder from my daughter-in-law.

I have this cross hanging on my wall.

I think that people love crosses because of what they represent. They give me a peaceful feeling when I look at them!

Mothers Day

I spent my Mothers Day working in my yard! I love this time of year when things start to come up and bloom . So far my roses look good, but give them another month and they will look awful. Every year I say I am going to pull them out and start over but I keep giving them one more chance!
I have lavender and pink carnations planted here so that should smell yummy when they bloom!

I love any kind of grasses and have all kinds of them planted in my yard with my flowers. I tend to like things that blow in the wind!

Every year I have to have a color theme! Last year it was pinks and reds! This year I am going for creams and whites, all different colors of lavender , and I haven't decided what my punch color will be yet! Any ideas?

I lost a big plant this winter that was in the middle of my flower bed, so I need to replace that, just don't know with what. I have hosta's that are in front of that spot that get pretty big.

I will show the back yard when I get it weeded! I have some poppies that are beautiful when they bloom! I tend to not work on that area so much cause no one sees it!
I tried a little garden spot out back last year but it didn't
do very good , not enough sun. I might try again in a different spot, I love fresh things to eat!
I am envious of anyone who gets to have a big garden, we just don't have the room to do it.

Favorites For Friday

We once owned a home at the beach! It was one of my favorite places that we have lived! We were lucky enough at that time where we worked for four day's and then had four day's off. So we would hop in the car and head to the beach to our little home. I loved it ! There is something about the beach that is just so wonderful and peaceful. This was the back of the house which was actually out front when you drove up to it!

I loved working in my yard while we were there!

This was the view from the front yard!

The view from our deck over the water was beautiful!

I spent alot of time on the beach with my dog Jax. He and I would walk for hours looking for goodies! He was always my faithful companion! We would get up at the crack of dawn and walk for hours! It funny how life can change and your interest goes in different directions! I loved what I did back then and I now love my interest in horses!

We had a beautiful sunny weekend and it was a good time to go out browsing! Dusty Devoe, Sares and I found a place called

"POLE BARN PRIMITIVES"

They had alot of fun stuff to look at!

There were candles, rugs, old dishes, luggage, tables, pans, blankets. They had homemade bread and cookies! Outside they had all kinds of things for the yard!

So of course I had to see what treasures I could bring home for the day!I have been coveting a yoke and I found one for eight dollars!

I found this cute little candle which actually is just a little light with a battery inside that makes it look like it is flickering!

I love cowbells and have always wanted to start collecting them, so I just had to have this one!

This is a hand painted letter holder that I thought was really cute!

An old lantern to hang outside and put a candle in!

Some homemade candles that smell like cinnamon, and a cute little homemade tea towel that would make a perfect gift for someone!

Next time I just might come home with this covered wagon! Wouldn't that be a fun adventure to go on!!!
